Woodlawn Instruments Ltd. was established in 1981 by owners Gerry and Sharon Cook. The focus at that time was to service primarily light aviation in the National Capital Region. From these humble beginnings, Woodlawn Instruments Ltd. has grown over the last twenty years to be one of the most respected names in aviation in Canada. We now serve private, general, and airline aviation internationally, something we as a family owned and operated business are very proud of. We are also members in good standing of both the AIA (Aircraft Instrument Association), and the AEA (Aircraft Electronics Association).

Our repair and overhaul facility is located at Suites 200-240 in the Esso Avitat, 350 Comet Private at the MacDonald-Cartier International Airport in Ottawa, Canada. The technical area of our 2500sq.ft. shop is broken up into four sections:

The Main Shop - This is where most of the disassembly and assembly of units takes place. It is also where we calibrate and test a wide variety of instruments ranging from small panel mounted gyros and tachometers, to larger remote gyros, flight directors, and HSI's.
The Pitot Static Room - In this room we test and calibrate altimeters, encoders, VSI's, airspeeds, and pitot-static testers, as well as a variety of pressure instruments including manifold pressure indicators, standard pressure gauges, and pressure transducers.
The Electronics Room - This is the room where most of the electronic instruments are serviced. The widest variety of units we see pass through here. From small engine gauges, to RMI's, large flight directors, HSI's and even air data computers. They see it all in this room.
Sales - Our sales department has on hand a large variety of new and used units ready for immediate delivery. All new and overhauled units come with a one year parts and labour warranty.

Currently, we have on staff eight full time technicians, with an average of 15-20 years experience in their respective fields. Together, our technical staff can service just about any make or model of aircraft instrument, from a wide variety of small engine gages, to remote and panel mounted gyros, and pitot static instruments.

At Woodlawn Instruments Ltd., our goal is to provide the highest quality service, with the shortest possible turn around times, while minimizing cost. We carry over 500 overhauled units ready to exchange in those difficult AOG situations when your aircraft must remain in service.
